Yodsanklai looks to unify WBC and WMC belts
It seems Yodsanklai, WBC Muay Thai World Champion, and recent winner of the contender asia title will have the opportunity to unify the WBC and WMC belts, I know Buakaw used to hold the belt after defeating Johmod, he must have vacated it to compete in K-1, and I he is the WBC's #1 contender for Yod's belt (Malaipet is third in line, but is not afraid to take fight Yodsanklai), and Yod has said he wants to fight Buakaw, I know the fight probably won't happen unless they collide in the K-1 MAX, which won't be under full thai rules anyway, but this is a superfight that the fans want to see and I wish Buakaw would step up to the plate! Buakaw vs Yodsanklai, and Spong vs Carnage are two fights that need to happen! any other dream matches you guys want to see?

I want to see this fight too but let's be honest: Buakaw is not the fighter that first comes to mind when you talk about ducking top competition.
In fact, of all MAX fighters, he might in fact be one who fights the toughest comp outside of the tourneys; Petrosyan and Chahbari for example.

I would imagine if Buakaw is ducking anyone its because of his management, not himself

what exactly is Buakaw's contract with K-1? he has fought others under full muay thai rules and won his WMC belt against Johmod during 2006, its obviously not an exclusive deal with K-1 but I suppose they could be lending him to other promotions, or is the contract with his management that ties him down? is he too busy participating in the MAX to fight Yod?

I agree. The guy has 200+ fights - I'm sure he doesn't really care who he fights.
It's probably not completely off the radar though: There was once a poll on Buakaw's official site in which people were asked to vote for a dream opponent and Yod was among the choices (along with Masato and Farid I believe).

If the fight does go down, it would most likely be in MAX I guess. Would be a good match up nun the less. Maybe we'll see Yod in the 2009 MAX tournement.
