OK this is funny. What was my point? Go re-read my original post and tell me my point.
There wasn't any except to show a boxer versus a kickboxer. I didnt say a good boxer versus a good kickboxer, just two fighters.. Nothing more, nothing less.
Just enjoy (or dont)!

But that said, a number of the top ranking fighters in that org are boxers or claim boxing as thier primary style. And they usually do well. See Kevin Engle, Tim Connors and Jennifer Santiago for examples of boxers doing well under that ruleset. They all have fights on youtube you can look up.
However, this isnt about that. This is just about a new boxer fighting a kickboxer. The org is just a ruleset.

its kickboxing but he means the rules and the new fighting area (not the ring), make it more difficult more a boxer to transition to the WCL, I think this is true when comparing it to full contact and perhaps even international rules (because of the ring), but I don't see it being more difficult to transition to the WCL than it would be to Thai boxing or K-1 style with multiple knees from the clinch (modified thai rules with no elbows)

World Combat League looks like kickboxing, but it isnt. If you throw a kickboxer in there against any type of fighter who has had some fights in WCL a couple times before, chances are that kickboxer is going to have a ROUGH time. The rules are different, no wearing your opponent down, its 1 three minute round. You can't corner your guy into the ropes, fighters and angles are much different. This is the type of fighting that benefits tae kwon do and karate fighters more so than others with its speed, staying busy, and 1 round concept.
Tim Connors and Jennifer Santiago are both fighters who have a good enough knowledge of kicks for attack and defense and use them to complement their hands. Kevin Engle is one of the guys who pretty much stays to his boxing roots and is successful.

Does "kickboxing" imply a specific ruleset? What are the rules? I'm just wondering because from what I can see, it's kickboxing, just with a different ruleset than what you are used to seeing. I agree that the rules are different than most orgs so naturally anyone would have to adjust, but I think that is true for any fighter going from one org to the next right? In other words, what makes WCL not kickboxing? I dunno.
For an example of a kickboxer/MT excelling in that ruleset look at Anthony Njokuani. He's got some youtbue stuff up. Check him out.
But like you said, I think 2 of the top 5 fighters in that league are from a Karate background. Some of the guys are very quick.

Kevin Engle cracks me up. You should watch one of his interviews, the guy is just so down to earth about his fighting. In his last interview he bascially said "Yeah I'm tall and a boxer so everyone just tries to kick my front leg. Whatever, I just chase them down and get the KO." He just eats kicks and sets up his overhand right time and time again. As a boxer he has done well adjusting to the rules - he even pretends to throw a kick once in a while. Since the rounds are so short and there are only two of them, he know he can eat a few kicks without getting worn down as fast. It's all about working the ruleset.
Connors is a guy who pretty much only boxes in the WCL as well. He can kick, but really he didnt start throwing kicks until he got KO'd by Craig Oxely. Now he takes his time, picks his shots and works his opponent down. But even when he kicks, all he is doing is just setting up his hands; I dont think Connors is comfortable kicking as they look so stiff and ridged.
Anyway, whatever you want to call it, it's exciting stuff and the fighters are getting their payday and TV exposure. Can't ask for more than that I suppose.

Why, yes, she is hot. Espcially for a boxer/kickboxer since they seem to take a lot of face shots. Here's a couple more for ya:

Yeah she is hot as hell .......
2.add Abraham Han as another boxer who has done well in the WCL rules...google his amateur boxing background
the kid has major league hands

kickboxing for me is the ring, multiple rounds, and a different ruleset then what WCL uses so i guess you can argue that WCL is kickboxing but at the same time you can argue it isnt.
yea Anthony Njokuani is a good fighter in WCL. He's fun to watch, he's not great and i dont see him being great but he'll always be entertaining to watch and he has a chance to do something in WCL
Yea Kevin Engle is one of my favorite fighters, he always tries to deliver the KO and no matter what you do your getting hurt when you fight him. Yea his kicks suck but who cares, he's fun to watch.
Yea that KO by Oxely made me want to cry. Connors is a bad man and yea he mostly does box but like you said, after that wake up call, he's a little more cautious i guess but he's still entertaining.
yea, WCL is a great sport to watch, its fast, strong, action packed and just great overall

This is weird. The girl who is the Boxer got OUTBOX by the kickboxer. The kicks didn't even do the damage it was mainly the punches from the kickboxer when the boxer would come inside. What is even more sad is that the Boxer did the right thing by coming to the inside and try to avoid being at the kickboxer's kicking range, only for her to show how much her boxing suck. No combos and her gaurd was down at all times. Point blank she sucks as a Boxer period.
At least she is pretty. She should stick to doing hair designing.
