Considering his age and training background when he retired from PRIDE after trying to kill Don, I'd say he was successful in K-1. Partially because he is crazy strong and hits like a truck, but he did well to keep up with the more refined and experienced kickboxers.

He had some good GP showings, I believe two final appearences, winning one tournament and making the Final Eliminations.

At the very least, he could kick your dad's ass.

Add to that the fact that he also happens to be one of the greatest arm wrestlers ever. He has beaten, at one time or another, most of the greats of the last 30 years. Good luck with the dating.

Gary doesn't have the best record out there, but always puts on a great fight. In Pride the fans would cheer for him even after a loss. I would watch him fight any time.

Indeed. He started in the UFC as nothing more than an arm wrestling champion.
