I think it would have been better if they could win a spot in the next K-1 Max GP in addition to the money. Winning the Contender Championship Title just does not carry much credibility.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that most of the guys are there to win the 250,000 grand prize.

All the Contender fights are fought under full Thai rules and grand prize is $150,000usd for the winner, plus you dont have to fight 3x in one day to win it. Contender Asia will be aired arcoss the world one hour a week for 15 weeks bringing much better exposer then K-1 max could offer getting into the homes of viewers that are not huge fight fans.
K-1 Max is awesome but once you see the adventures the boys got up to in the show you will see that the Contender rocks 10x more.

wow. nice to see you posting here John. by the way, the documentary Nat Geo made about you was nice!!! the road to the K1 Max. I know the Contender show is done taping but still can't wait to see the shows
