Jeez that was a bad way to end it. Spong was gone. They way the ref waved it off would have looked like a recommencement from the angle that Carnage saw it.
Spong is a classy talented fighter, but he was still throwing plenty of glove before he got dropped. I can't help but think that the broken hand thing is an excuse.
Great fight, let's see it with elbows.

Damm good fight with both fighters showing how good they are and an ending which screams rematch
So let's get it on again boys !
I would like to see a fight between the 2 in Australia, then another in Holland, if it's 1-1, the decider in Thailand

Neither of them will go for fighting in the others home country especially Spong where he won't get the money he would want. I am pretty sure Spong has already said that and other have brought it up that that is why Carnage doesn't fight top notch opponent that much anymore because of the money the Australian promoters offer.

In this case Carnage is the better fighter, here is why before this fight they were considered no 1 and 2 ( you decide who was 1 and 2 ).
Now they fight and Spong looked good early, but he was finished by Carnage. Therefor Carnage is better(there is no debating that) is there much between them no not really. This wasn't a fight where a no name massive underdog beat a champion, they both have great records.
People are going on like this fight was controversial, but the fact is the controversy was after Corbett had already won.
I would always welcome a rematch but on the grounds that they are the best two fighters for there division and would always provide a entertaining fight, not on this bullshit no contest.

Clear win for Carnage, there was nothing malicious in it from my perspective. The ref stepped away as he waved in a (slightly) downward motion. Carnage stepped in but man, there was nothing in it. It's not like he bit off Spongs ear.
The KO should stand. The ref's a dud, even if he did fight Van Damme.

I would like Carnage to head into K1 now. Spong was the only legit challange he had left in the MT world ( and even Spong didnt want to face Carnage full thai rules).
I feel Nathan has nothing left to prove in MT, he is the best crusierweight in the world.
He should follow Spong into k1 ( would be better if K1 made a division for both them) i think around 85-90kgs is where they both would shine.
But i think Nathan like Spong will have troubles putting on the weight and going up against the naturaly bigger guys.

Absolutely, i think Spong knew there was no malice in it ( it was in no way like Badr/Bonjansky), i think it is really bad that they can take a great victory like that off nathan because of a ref blunder that didn't injure or have any bearing on the fight itself.

Pity there is bugger all money in Australian fighting. We're at a constant disadvantage in sports in general due to the lack of competition in Asia/ Pacific. You're from Holland? No worries, couple of hours south and you can fight French dudes. Aussies have to fly across the globe to get competition.
Just makes it all the more special when someone from this part of the world excels, and that goes for all Asia/ Pacific peoples. Chris John, Manny Pacquiao, Carnage, Vic Darchinyan, lot's of respect for all of them.

There is no reason in hell Carnage should go to K-1 unless they make an -200 pound weight division. Carnage has already said he doesn't like fighting under K-1 rules so why should he go fight there? There is still fighters put there to fight under Muay Thai rules and if he runs out he can jump up to 95kg he has already beat the WBC Muay Thai champion in that weight class.

I think that Carnage's Karate background is an asset in Muay Thai and may be adaptable to K1. That said, I don't think his future is at the heavier weights, he looks better below 90kg in my opinion. Still, he KO'd Spong at what was pretty much a catch weight, so he might go alright and make some coin to go with it.
