Buakaw, whats next?
so seeing his fight against Andy, it is clear that K-1 doesnt want him as champ.
so should he leave?
stay in K-1 who just doesnt want him to be champ and will most likely get screw again?
does anybody got any updates on Buakaw's opinion on the fight and what is his next move?

I think Buakaw said something about the lines of "I'm sure all the fans know who is the real winner." I mean, its not like he dominated or anything, but the judges' attempt to make Souwer vs Masato happen was blatant. With that no longer influencing fights, I hope Buakaw challenges Petro.

well they did took out his MT clinch, and possibly maybe more screwing if they want someone else besides him fighting Masato.

The rule change was decided because of Schilt, then imported into MAX a year later. I find the whole "Buakaw is getting screwed, if it wasn't for those evil Japanese, he'd be raping Masato and Andy with his double donkey schlongs" school to be pretty annoying, though its undeniable he got cheated on the 26th. But hey, Masato's retiring, and K-1 needs all the A-class fighters it can get to challenge Petro.

they had no plans of importing that rule change into K-1 Max though when it happen to K-1. never was no intention of it, then Buakaw wins many of his fights by that MT clinch and gets screw in the championship against Andy Souwer and then next year it was implemented like you said.
alot of fighters mention in an interview about that sudden rule change and how it effected a certain fighter.

The question could also be. K1 Max, whats next?
I think Buakaw and his management will try to stay as long as they can. The money Buakaw gets is probably more than he can get elsewhere. He is still one of the best and he is a big draw.
Karaev.. You think Petrosyan vs Buakaw would be good now? I don't think K1 will make it happen in a long time or ever. I can imagine K1 thinking this years Max final was some of the weakest in its short history. Instead of the possibilty of a fantastic final between Petrosyan vs Buakaw, we've got a final that was just a fight, nothing special and pure onesided.
I think K1 don't want to gamble and see what will happen if they put Petrosyan against the Thai. What if Buakaw is winning in a convincing way in a superfight?
Frankly, I am a bit worried what will happen to Max. With no topclass Japanese fighters(Sato is good, but he is in kind of same bad situation as Buakaw. Never favoured, and he is not loved by K1), there is not very much to look forward the next couple of years for Japan and cheering for a countryman. Yamamoto, a very limited fighter if meeting one of the top 4, more heart than skill. Kido, getting old and can't be any better, like a robot he is doing the same, and its to late for him to evolve. Hinata, Kohi, Nagashima, Hiroya? I don't see any of them entering the final 4.
If the Japanese crowd doesn't care about titles and just follow it for the show and it's exotic mix of foreign fighters, then maybe it will survive. But I believe Japan need a new hero if K1 Max is going to survive.
Petrosyan for the next 5 years? Nah, I will jump that for sure.
The real hero and champion is Buakaw. He is the true champion of 2004, 2005 and 2006. And in my sane mind, the champion 2009.
He has just been pushed in to the toughest route. Fighting 2 opponents at the same time.

K-1 knows just how bad for the ratings that a reign of an absolute champ is, you don't even have to go back to Schilt, people were hating on Peter Aerts during his reign. I'll bet you anything that K-1 will try to run Petro through the gauntlet next year.

First off, I honestly think they should bring back the 8-man finals MAX tournament. It was just plain more exciting, and you can say whatever you want about why they took it away but I point clearly to Masato not being able to carry on in '05 & limping his way into the finals in '07.
Bringing back the 8-man finals would also eliminate a pointless MAX event, the 8 to 4 man eliminator. MAX doesn't need an extra event because they don't have the roaster of fighters. I.E. an MMA promotion can display other weight divisions if they are having the 8 to 4 man elimination leg of a tournament. MAX is only 155 and under, personally I feel it takes away from the iconic aspect of K1 by having this middle eliminator.
I know it has been discussed to death but I believe adding elbows to K1 MAX could bring a new level of excitement to the sport. It would just add a bigger variety of strikes and more ways for a fighter to express themselves.
About the clinching, did anyone else notice that they let Souwer and Buakaw clinch for quite a bit tonight. Normally the ref starts throwing a hissy fit the second someone wraps part of their hand around an opponent.
