What does Yod cut from/walk-around at?

In his recent interview he said that SLAMM changed the catch weight, and he had to cut a lot in a short period. I know that Thai's are not big weight cutters, most rarely cut more than 10 pounds, and Yod isn't really big at 155. Bruce Macfie looked huge comparatively. Does anyone know what his walking weight is?

i don't think he is used to cutting. he used to be a smaller fighter and hes a short guy. i think the thai system is that they stay within a certain weightclass and if they cut, the cut isn't drastic.

dont think Slamm changed the catchweight, more that he was misinformed on the weight by someone originally.
As for Thai's and cutting weight, they all cut large amounts and from a young age, he would definately be used to it, most fighters will cut about 6 or 7 kilos in the 3 days just before the fight. The weigh in at 6 in the morning for a fight in the stadiums and for 3 days before twice a day and often on the morning of the fight they will jog with a full sweatsuit on and cut out fluids. It is also common for clinics near to the stadiums to have a few boxers in straight after the weigh ins where they will have glucose/rehydration fluids put back in through a drip.

I'm not 100% sure if this applies to most of the fighters in Thailand or fighting Muay Thai but my MT coach (who's fought many years in Thailand) told me this about weight cutting:

If you have a upcomming fight then you train harder and spend more time doing cardio and sparring. Then on the day of the fight you should weigh around the weight you will be fighting at, if you're over that weight (often being only 1-4 lbs) then you take it off just before the fight.

Im not sure if this is the way all fighters do it but according to my coach you don't see these monster cuts (10-20lbs) before a fight!

may have been like that in your coaches day, but nowadays it is like I said for every fighter! And is probably a dominant factor in Thai fighters burning out a bit earlier than their foriegn counterparts. I have seen a fighter from Kaewsamrit so stresseed out by the weight making, he took some regular clothes and hid them in the bushes up the road from the gym and went out in his sweatsuit got changed in the bushes to normal clothes and jumped on a bus back home, this ive heard of from other gyms also, the last few days before a fight can be hell for the fighters in Thailand, especially if they dont have too much discipline in the build up to the fight with what they eat.

He walks around at about 74kgs = 163lbs. I think that his weight in training though, so he may or may not be more in the before the start of his preperation for a fight.

To the poster above, I believe that thais DON'T cut a lot of weight

You see them outside the stadium a lot in tracksuits (and its really fuckin hot usually) and thats how they drop the last few pounds if they don't make weight, jog up and down a bit. If they'd already cut a lot of weight, they wouldn't be able to cut that last pound so easily

as I said they will usually drop at least 6 kilos before a fight, mostly in fluids. Anuwat will usually go back up 6 or 7 kilos from the morning weigh in to the evening of the fight and as I said it is often the case the fighters will go straight to a clinic after the weigh in to bve put on a drip to rehydratre, ive been present for this many times and it is not usually just one fighter, but several fighters on the same card that are doing this. Most of the Thai fighters are walking around at least 6 kilos above the weight they fight at, if you dont believe me go to a proper gym and see how the fighters prepare for a big fight at Lumpini or Ratchadamnern and you will see they will have those sweatsuits on for at least 3 days before the fight, if they are on on the tuesday card they willl be out jogging in those suits twice a day on the saturday, sunday and monday and again on the morning of the fight, there is also a sauna situated inside Lumpini by the scales to help fighters.
