Buakaw Vs Faldir Chahbari

Buakaw is going to meet Faldir Chahbari on the 26th April. Who does everyone have for winning that fight? Faldir recently had a win (albeit, controversial in some people's eyes) over Albert Kraus.

This fight will be hard to pick a winner but i'll go with Buakaw via extra round split decision. Who do you have winning that fight?

Faldir is one of the very top 70 kg guys in Europe. I would rank him right up there with Souwer, Villaume and Petrosyan. Besides beating Kraus (legit win btw), he has also beaten Direkci and Drago. Here is a profile I created on him:

Outstanding skills and very durable. I think his quick hands, reach and ring vision will keep Buakaw very busy.. I still have Buakaw as a favorite but only just slightly.

Sorry, I had to laugh at the ring vision comment. Of course you're right but it's quite ironic that a guy who can read the game like Chahbari can is half blind.

I must admit: The thought had occured to me as well. The guy is a fucking hero though. Fighting at the highest level with that kind of handicap is simply amazing...

I didn't mean it like that...although this is a k-1 event after all...haha jkz. But seriously, Chahbari is a very talented fighter. I never knew he was part blind. But given the way i see him manoveur (sp?) in the ring you would not think so at all.

The way i imagine it...it'll be like JWP V Buakaw. A close fight where it could go either way because i can't imagine either one of them dominating the other.

Off topic: i read in an Andy Souwer interview that he is sparring partners with Chahbari. Because if thats the case...then team Souwer is nothing to mess with.

Chahbari actually is the kind of fighter who actually have a very legit shot in beating Buakaw, especially on K-1 rules. He's fast, technical, and a point fighter. His defense is tight as can get and his reflexes are lightning fast.

Buakaw better not underestimates him because you must bring your a-game to beat Chahbari imo. If he does take him lightly, a motivated and sharp Chahbari is fully capable of beating a less than 'normal' Buakaw.

So Buakaw wins by decision. Anyone see the fight? The only comment I've seen was that Buakaw did not look fantastic.
