I personally like Meltzer. Listen to him talk sometimes, he comes acros as a guy that's still very passionate about wrestling, and loves what he does, despite being around for so long, and having seen some of the worst in the business.
As for being an elitist, a bit, yeah. But, after being around for as long as he has, he's kinda deserved it.

I've never really wanted to be a wrestler, personally. I've wanted to do more MMA/grappling than wrestling - even before I knew about MMA, I was into more TMA, and the submission aspect of wrestling was what interested me more. So, I guess I want to be a catch wrestler.

IMO Riddle could be a star in the UFC. He's young, personable, and if he continue to train with Arizona Combat Sports or hit a big camp (ATT,AKA,Extreme Couture) he could be dangerous in the future.

The only way I could ever appear in the WWE is if I stayed indoors for 9 months, used Michael Jackson's skin bleach and got a call to show up and get squashed by Mark Henry/Great Khali/Umaga/Kane/Vladimir Kozlov/etc. I would definitely love to put over guys like Shannon Moore, Jimmy Wang Yang, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, London & Kendrick, Funaki and the other actual talents in the company though.
For some reason, I have always been a fan of the Big Fish in a Small Pond deal where a guy was the top star and champion of one or more indy promotions, gets signed by a big 2 company and is a JTTS there.

He is freakishly strong for his weight. Amatuer wrestling seems to do that to guys.

My old brother started training at the WCW Power Plant in September 1998. No bullshit.
He stayed around until getting cut in mid 1999 and left the business altogether for a better paying job as a chiropractor.

Irony, first he leaves a job where he hurts backs to go to a job where he fixes backs.

Seeing that steady supply of customers first hand, he saw how to make money off of it. Smart guy.

He's a freakishly average fighter for his weight also. Being strong isn't going to compensate for the fact he isn't that good, plus there are many other strong fighters at MW that negates that advantage anyway.

I used to work with someone that wrestles for a local indy fed. I used to go see them, until I got bored of seeing the handful of guys that could put on a decent match getting overshadowed by twenty Bouncy McFlippersons that could do nothing but acrobatics.
There was a great story about I heard about one of the aforementioned acrobats, who has somehow managed to get booked internationally now. He was supposedly showing off his moves to his mates in town one night, and ended up smashing his own face in as a result.
