ROH is in financial problems, but that's because they don't have financial backing. For what they are, they do pretty well. They're not deep deep in the red where they're on their last legs. Still, they need as much help as they can, and PPV is a huge cost to put together.

I was under the impression their ppv costs weren't bad because of the delay in airing them way after the live events?

They're not in bad shape. They turn a profit at every show (not only due to tickets but also merch). They have sales a lot because they know how much ROH fans LOVE the company, and that's their way of giving back.

I'm from Michigan born and raised, the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool. And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school.
Nah but the fact that I'm from MI is the reason why a few of my favorite wrestlers are who they are. Gotta represent the mitten man. I'm about a hour and 45 minutes north of Detroit.
As of this post I'm just a 17 year old kid with a passion for the business. Due to my cousins, I started watching Wrestling when I was around 4 or five. One of my earliest wrestling moments was watching Chris Benoit in ECW. Ever since I first watched wrestling, I've been completly hooked. Thanks to having older family members who were wrestling fans, I found out quick about Dusty, Flair, Sullivan, Austin Idol, Arn, Ole, Blanchard and a lot of other older guys.
From 2002-2007 I quit watching wrestling all together (I'd watch it every now and then but nowhere near like I did before) because I got sick of restholds and bullshit stories. So, early 07 I was surfing the internet and heard about Homicide from TNA winning the ROH World Title. I'd never watched ROH before so I bought Final Battle 2006 and was hooked. Since then I've bought a bunch of ROH DVD's. Hell due to ROH, I learned about PWG, Chikara, and IWAMS.
So, that's basically my wrestling life in a nutshell.

Here's one of the videos for today. It's from Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. It's a company that features a lot of comedy, and a lot of good wrestling. They use many of the top indy talents all over the world and are widely regarded as being the #2 Indy promotion behind ROH (which would make PWG the fourth promotion overall). Here it is ladies and gentlemen....El Generico and Colt Cabana spending money!

Comparatively. For a live PPV if I remember right it costs something in the ballpark of a quarter of a million dollars for something like the WWE (I could be off, but that's the impression I'm under and have been under for a while). While it doesn't cost nearly as much, it still takes a hefty impact to do it. So for them to continually do it, based off of ticket sales and DVD sales, it takes an impact to put out the product.

ROH is what still makes me interested in wrestling. I recommend if you can checking out NOAH, and SHIMMER. Also, I think you may be the youngest fellow in this thread, rncgnp and I are fairly young but I'm over 18.

I remember seeing that. I think that may just be the genius of Colt Cabana, who I'm still pissed is in development and hasn't been promoted to a bigger show.

Given it's an indy gimmick that Vince didn't create? I'd say you wouldn't get much of a return if you bet on it. Al Snow's head gimmick was crazy over in ECW, but didn't exactly set the E alight when they let him use it (or was it still the F back then?). That's proof enough for Vince. Of course, there's CM Punk, who still uses straight edge, but I can't think of too many others. Just imagine Shark Boy in the E...

Danielson will probably be repackaged. For all his talent he wasn't even a big draw in Japan. he is a mid-carder over there. His style isn't conducive to longevity either. He has the tools but this is the big city in the E.
Snow was on loan to ECW from the WWF. The reason they let him work there was so that he could find a gimmick and get back to the WWF. So, in effect, the head gimmick was the gimmick that the WWF wanted him to have. (They just wanted him to find a gimmick that worked. Heyman got free talent and in return the WWF didn't have to come up with a gimmick for him.)
