I wonder why german suplexes are less common in wrestling when it seems like it's the easier and more real of the two...

Why can't blah blah blah?
You have to love people who debate this way.

BN "I think such and such should happen."

DRH "I disagree, and here are some reason why with logic explaining them."

BN "Well I disagree, and it's my opinion so that me makes more right than anyone else. If you say otherwise I'll act like a smartass."

Yes

I was a big Jake guy so my opinion may be swayed. That's what pisses me off the most about ruined finishers is the DDT. Jake made that look like the single most destructive move in PW. Now to call it a transaction move could be a stretch.

I may be in the minority, but for every good move Benoit did, I think he took the wind out of the sails on the german suplex. I thought the 3 and 4 combo German suplexes looked fucking retarded and that was a mainstay in every Benoit match. I think the german looked better as well, but when he was doing the combos, they were just so slow in transitioning they looked like shit IMO.

On the Taker debate, some may think my opinion is obscured because I still like Taker and have him in my av. However I think everyone is missing the main reason he is not retiring. So here is my take on the Deadman

1.) As far as skills, his have diminished a bit, but he is still two fold over the next closest big man. Obviously he looks less skilled than other guys because he is not doing the rediculous moonsaults and shit like that. But as far as big men, and there are quite a few, I still think his skills are tops.

2.) His ring generalship is at the top or top 5 without a doubt. You can still have a great match with slower reactions and skills if you understand how the flow of a match should go and know when to use the high spots instead of just doing a big move for the sake of doing a big move. (See Ric Flair)

3.) His ring entrance and theatrics alone get a huge pop without even saying a word. I think his intro is top 3-5 all time and his gimmick IMO is the best ever.

4.) The biggest reason he has not retired that I have not seen anyone touch on......MONEY. Yes somebody said he was still making a living, but the money I'm talking about is the money that counts. That would be the money in Vince's pocket. Hogan once said the best wrestler is the one that makes the most money. Taker still draws a ton of money and he is still over to the majority of fans. This is the main reason he's not retired. If the gimmick was that tired, it wouldn't be drawing money and Vince would have buried it years ago. Don't think for a minute Vince has loyalties to anyone. He is about the cheddar. He would keep Taker on the roster as long as he wanted to go out of respect regardless, but if he were not drawing money, he wouldn't be getting any pushes, there would be no Wrestlemania streak, and he wouldn't be getting a title shot. Badnews, you mention him taking a roster spot a younger guy could have, but there are a bunch of younger guys that get air time every week who are not drawing 2% of what Taker does with his same old gimmick.

I'm not taking sides in this wonderful debate, that is just my view. Flame away guys.
