For every native proficient Chinese translator making $100k+ I'm sure there are a dozen Spanish translators making $20k a year and all other languages inbetween.

No, you obviously have no idea how military pay tables work do you?
First of all, I was referring to the posted E-4 linguist pay. Of course, I should have said that I made more than that as an E-3 in a Recon Bn. platoon actually. but for some reason I said Sergeant with Force.
But hold on for a second dude, because you're picking and choosing what you want to claim as your own.
You've said repeatedly in the WR that you made more money while you were in the military than anyone else did, and I'm wondering where that statement's verification is? You've said it numerous times.
I posted a link with three salaries: and E-4, a civilian with a secret clearance, and a civilian with a top secret clearance. For some reason, you ONLY chose to acknowledge the highest figure that was listed.
Which is typical for you though, so I'm not surprised.
I also would like to post this:
http://language123.com/lv/arabic_language_17031.html
1 year of work = $80k
Hardship duty = $16k
Hazardous duty = $20k
Completion fee = $40k
So, for $156k, you work for 1 year, with a single, 2 week vacation...
And that is a stipulated contract that can ONLY be filled with someone of Iraqi descent, not some white kid from Nebraska who learned a second language.
Compare that to 3 months on, 1 month off, 3 months on, 1 month off at a salary of close to $1k a day, with double that payed out on true holidays such as Christmas, and I'd say that those helmet heads you make fun of are turning it on pretty well...

reading comprehension ftw. I never asked about any fake degree, I already have a handful of legit degrees. As far as the other comment, I said I was WORKING TOWARDS a PhD, which is true. I'm taking classes this summer that will let me finish the masters requirements so I can do a dissertation if I want. Learn to fucking read. I even clarified a few posts after that I was taking some graduate classes.

Yeah, I'm a bit out of my element in here, but in threads like these, dealing with such obvious douches, it's not a big deal.
I'm always worried that I'll make a good, intelligent put-down, and that somebody will post a picture of a turd or a tranny and that everyone will go "pwned!".
I'm all for the warrior whistle.

For someone with such a high IQ (150 + right?), you have a serious lack of reading comprehension.
Heck, you can't even follow the basic discourse of a conversation can you?
I would humbly ask that you quote me as saying that every Marine can make $200k a year. I'll stand by and wait on that okay man?
People are getting out of the Marines who have an infantry background (03xx), and they are going to PMC's and getting payed hard, hard money for 6 months of work.
Now, you routinely call infantry guys all sorts of names, so I'm wondering where all of that name calling comes from if the true measure of a man's intellect is the paycheck he receives.
I just don't understand what your deal is. You are a walking contradiction.
To quote my favorite musician (Jerry Lee Lewis), I would describe you as:
"He's a walking contradiction, partly truth, partly fiction."

HEY HEY! I resent that! We fight and we get no respect. 10 years from now, who will give a shit what we did in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Well, if this is the method of making truth, I'd like someone to call the Guinness Book of World Records.
My girlfriend's nephew is the world's youngest MD!
Hooray, hooray, hooray!
Yeah, he's 7 years old and he's in school right now. He wants to be a doctor and a fireman when he grows up. Since doctors require the MD/DO degree, and he is currently working towards that goal, he is thereby awarded the title of Doctor!!!

Dude, you're giving me headaches even trying to figure out what you're talking about. What exactly do you want to know? I don't care if you know someone that works in a PMC and makes $1k a day. You are not him. And likely you never could be him. And even if you could, you would be getting paid the money because you had a highly dangerous job, not because you were worth it.
My military pay was based off of many things. My base pay was somewhere around $30k+, the COLA, BAS, BAH, etc for Hawaii was probably around $35-40k, bonus averaged $10k a year, and language pay for proficiency in 2 languages was $12k when I got out. That adds up to about $85-90k. This is probably not the usual salary for an E-5 though.
As a civilian for my skills, $100k+ is not uncommon to sit at a desk in DC.
Ok, so which part are you unclear about?
