I really enjoyed World of Warcraft. Maybe is it a love of living a fantasy life and escaping from the real world? I don't know. I had legions of followers and wealth (which also equated to real life wealth) and enemies that tried their best to stop me, but never could. I had people working real jobs in China to support my luxurious lifestyle in the game, generosity to others, and support my family in real life too. Every night was an exciting adventure. I could fucking write a book about a weeks happenings in the game. There was always so much drama, me stalking leaders of opposite factions, killing them, their guild members coming to try to help, me killing them 5 on 1.. organizing groups of Chinese gold farmers to mow down opposing groups too large for me to solo.. and then basking each night in the awe of others. I have a screenshot of the forums for my server where something like 25 of the 40 posts on the front page were about me. I had hordes of trolls that would troll the boards on my behalf. Even a Chinese gold farmer came to write about me once. I came and rescued him from like 7 guys that were camping his body and he was so amazed at my uberness, he came to the boards in his broken English to laugh and mock them and sing my praises for saving him and giving him a chance to provide for his family in China. There used to be like a tabloid made each month, with news, funny stories, comics, etc all totally made from edited clips out of the game + text stories. I was on the cover 3 times, out of the 7 or 8 that came out while I was playing. One was a picture of my character with drawn in marionette strings controlling little Chinese farmer characters hocking goods and farming. This was a breaking story about me being involved in gold farming after some pussy in my guild told that I bought epic mounts for 5 people in the guild (he didn't get one) and mailed like 100 dark iron bars to a friend's guild bank when I heard they desperately need them. None of this probably means anything to you, but it was a wonderful time for me. My in game mailbox was crammed with mails daily from people making characters on my server or horde faction just to ask me advice, strats, give props etc.. I was making money, making the rules, calling the shots, known and feared by all, unstoppable, I could do whatever I pleased, and it was great. I had a steady supply of resources I had created for myself, I no longer had to farm for anything for my character, everyday I had more gold, health potions, and mana potions in my mailbox than I could use, along with money going to my real life bank account. It was a wonderful experience.

It's probably hard for you to understand. Imagine being the ruler of an entire world. Better than every other inhabitant of the world at everything. Imagine having legions of followers, that followed you, worshiped you, did whatever you asked. Followers that looked to you for guidance. Imagine having all of this because you built the world. You build your country, taught your followers, made your world profitable. Then imagine a rival world trying to oppose you, then getting destroyed. They can not oppose you because what you have built is far beyond them. Your abilities far exceeds anyone else's and they can do nothing but secede to this. They can do nothing but admit they stand no chance. And the empire you built loves you for this. That is what I had. I had a perfect life, at the same time, earning a very good amount of money for my family in real life. That made me very happy. I can't think of anything else I've ever experienced quite like that, and I doubt I will ever experience it again.
