Actually I would love to see this fight because it would either validate Barnett, which I highly doubt would happen, or it would expose Barnett for what I have been saying for a long time. I think he is a product of his situation in Japan, and really isn't as good as people think. I cannot agree that he is top 3 HW. Just can't. Knocking out Rizzo? Who's Barnett going to fight next? Eilers, Buentello, Tank, Kimo? Going to decision with Monson didn't do much for me either. He's definately hanging on to a cult legacy here. I'm also guessing that he wants to wait on fighting Fedor until it is worth much more money, and hoping Fedor can land a nice fat juicy contract with a company that people actually know about. Fedor could possibly help import Josh in the UFC so long as Fedor hasn't beaten Barnett.

I wouldn't mind seeing him signed to a smaller organization, but he doesn't have a well rounded enough game to be considered seriously in any of the bigger organizations. Perhaps his best bet is TUF. I consider it if I was him. Quite a step down from his .5 mil paychecks from the now bankrupt Elite XC.

Barnett doesn't need validation. He's fought many of the top guys with the exception of Fedor.

Why the fuck is this thread going? All those Pride cans are overrated and scared of the UFC. Look what happened to Shogun and CC.
lesnar by murder. Hell give Lesnar AA, Sylvia and Barnett all at one time and body limbs will start flyign everywhere, with Lesnar standing in the end.

Yeah actually he kind of does. He has fought many of the top guys, and mostly lost. CC x2Nog x1(the first fight being an arguable split decision). I'm not going to sit here and catalogue his career, but there are a lot of good reasons to suggest that Barnett is not what he seems to be. His gastank was always questionable too. Mounted by the kickboxer that is now out of the UFC because of losing to opponents in the 'weak UFC HW division'.....
I'm just not sold on Barnett. I've watched him jab, jab, clinch, rest, break repeat enough to make me sick.

I'd watch it. I'd take Josh in this one but I took Randy over Brock so there you go. I don't like the Josh hate though, I'm starting to get slap-happy.

I understand where you're coming from. I'm not a big fan of Barnett or his fighting style but there's no shame in losing to the top guys. He evidently didn't match up well against CC, but battled Nog admirably in that split decision win. Matching him up against Arlovski or Fedor would prove more than him likely catching Lesnar in a sub.

Difference between Lesnar and Kimbo = Barnett and Lesnar.
Barnett's submissions are just too good for Lesnar. Lesnar will never close that gap, to become a bad matchup for Barnett.
