Would AS earn more respect he went to LHW even if he flopped?

So being one of the most dominant MMA fighters in the biz and future hall of famer. Don't you guys think if he moved to LHW he would be idolized no matter how he did. I mean look at BJ, the guy is loved for taking up the challenge and moving to WW, having fought bigger guys in his career like his machida fight. I mean even if Silva fails at LHW it would further compact his legacy regardless of the outcome. What do you guys think..?

Well, he has. Twice. And won. Twice.

He's 2-0 at LHW with a win over a former champion, he's already more successful than most there.

Why does the best fighter on the planet need to earn any more respect from people that don't even train?

Yeah, def. It's like he tested the waters but never jumped both feet in. It's one thing if he NEVER touched LHW, but he did and we all saw what he could do. So why not commit to it before you're too old.

Anderson is going to be 37 in a couple of months. He does not have anything to prove in the UFC and should be getting more respect with every win.

It would actually wreck his legacy.

If he were to move up to LHW permanently and go on a losing streak Sherdog and many other forums would be ablaze with those who already hate Anderson screaming that this proves MW is weak and his record breaking win / defense streak was padded with cans.

I love Anderson but I'm dead serious. He already has a huge contingent of haters on this site and every other one and they'd just go nuts if there was actually a real reason to claim that he's not really all that and a bag of chips.
