A number of people just cant admit that Pride just might not have been so good talent wise as people thought. The vast majority of the thread on Wanderlei are nothing short of excuse threads where they are blaming everything short of a second shooter on the grassy gnoll for why Wanderlei, Nog, and many others are suddenly doing badly after Pride.
Overall Ive personally been a fan of Wanderlei for many years now so I don't think its a fan base issue. The reason the threads picked up about the same time Wanderlei lost in the GP is because Sherdog's population shot up about that time.

disagree...rampage came and dominated, anderson dominated. wand was past his prime when he arrived in the ufc, big nog came and dominated as well with two wins and the interim belt. cro cop got ktfo'd..yea, and shogun fought with an injured acl...i discredit your claims, not to mention hendo lost his fights to pride guys and fought palhares and beat him.
