Aside from Wamrage and a few other diehards no one had anything much to say about Wanderlei Silva, and when a thread did start up it was filled with shit about him fighting cans and using enhancers.

I think that he got more love from the Sherdog posters after he was bested in the OWGP.
From then on he seemed to struggle and gain a huge fan base..

Disscuss ..or not.

What are we even discussing???

I think you may need to get out more if misspelling pisses you off.

Don't get pussy hurt because the ts spelled a word wrong. I would have 20k posts if I went around correcting everyone's typos.

just my observation here,

I think it has more to do with how up until recently it was very widly assumed that Pride had the top fighters in every weight class they used (WW not included of course). Well now that Pride was purchased and a large number of their top stars have been bought by the UFC...their track record well...sucks so far.

A number of people just cant admit that Pride just might not have been so good talent wise as people thought. The vast majority of the thread on Wanderlei are nothing short of excuse threads where they are blaming everything short of a second shooter on the grassy gnoll for why Wanderlei, Nog, and many others are suddenly doing badly after Pride.

Overall Ive personally been a fan of Wanderlei for many years now so I don't think its a fan base issue. The reason the threads picked up about the same time Wanderlei lost in the GP is because Sherdog's population shot up about that time.

UFC fighters from that era are doing very poorly as well. If Pride was still the number 1 show in town; you can bet a lot of the younger great fighters who are winning in UFC would be in PRIDE rather than UFC.

they were both good in diffirent divisions. the people we thought would win lost, the others suprised.

pride hws of the same era dominated the ufc hws.

rampage beat chuck, chuck beat wand. shogun lost to griffin.

mw no brainer with anderson silva and dan henderson.

ww is ufcs for sure

and i think ufc's lw for the same era dominated prides
