Will we ever see Pedro Rizzo again?

There comes a time to finally let go. As much as I don't want to hear that Pedro is finished as a fighter, reality settles in. With all the talk of the Pride GP and new leagues forming. Pedro's name has not been mentioned. Maybe he quietly retired and is enjoying life as a family man. Maybe he is still training and hoping he gets a phone call from one of the big Orgs.

One thing is for certain. That overweight guy that got mauled by Sergei and dropped by Roman with one punch was not the Pedro that I know.

I for one miss the old Pedro.

Bash and flame away fellas....

I wouldnt be suprised if he hung the MMA gloves up sooner rather than later....He hasnt had fighting in his heart in a long time, just look back to his fight vs Ricco in the UFC.

Unless he comes back motivated and in shape, it would be better for the sake of sustaining his legacy for him to pack it up rather than drag his career out.

He seems to have peaked at a very young age, and had some great highlight KOs, as well as some epic battles (Couture, Barnett, Tank, Telligman). It is a shame to see him in the state he is in now, especially when the Rizzo you are familiar with is the Ruas Vale Tudo fighter with the lethal leg kicks and KO hands. It is upsetting that he would be "done" so soon. He has always had a problem with letting his agression come out, and even saw a sports psychologist about being more agressive in competition. This led to him become more of a passive, more gunshy counter striker in his latter fights--- which he can doway better than...

i think he was talking some trash about cro cop in gracie mag about how he doesnt have the heart to come back when he gets into trouble in his fights. seemed like he was trying to generate some sort of exposure to get himself back the pride hw picture. i think he should spend some time in cagerage and kotc and other "smaller shows" KO some cans and get his confidence back up.

He turns 32 in a couple of days. Relatively still at a decent age to continue fighting. Maybe the many wars over the years and the long periods of time off took thier toll.

good wsy to generate some talk about yourself....and get your head knocked off.

I think Rizzo would benefit from the "Vitor Treatment", as in sending the underachieving Brazilian on a losing streak down to a smaller show to wreak havoc on some cans

Unfortunately, the jury is still out on Vitor. I still see a fire in Vitor but the outside the cage/ring issues have taken thier toll. The BS loss to Tito Ortiz did not help.

You bring up a good comparison. Pedro has always had issues reguarding his psyche and he also never seemed to get over a controversial loss to Randy.

Both of those guys are realtively young. Vitor at least keeps somewhat active.

If I was he, I'd go back to Zuffa. He has the chance to be UFC Heavyweight Champ.
