I re-watched the fight twice today and I think Forrest fought the smartest fight he ever has in his MMA career. If it was Lyoto doing it there would have been no bashing at all. It would've been thats his style or he did great. Forrest fights with his head and so does Lyoto. In my mind Forrest is that good. I wouldn't expect anybody to stand and bang with Rampage[except Wandi]. Brains, Heart and Skills pay off in the long run. Griffen will be a great champ. He can take a punch, always gets back to his feet, has good sub defense and a sh!tload of heart and brains. Combine all this and its the makeing of a great champion. Bad thing is so does Lyoto. Plus Forrest has got submissions. Lyoto does to. I belive this will be a great fight and should be the next LHW title fight. Stick and move!!

i couldn't agree more however, it wont be. Machida will get ducked for awhile. Forrest got the shot as he was fan favorite. Forrest is "the people's champ." he beat Hector Remirez, a non top ten fighter and then defeated Shogun by sub jumping to a title shot despite his knockout loss to Jardine or his Tito fight having a win also over Bonar in a 3rd fight. i still see very cause for a title shot however, UFC is sports entertainment of mma. this gives room for Dream & IFL or Afflictions or even Elite to make a huge splash in the sport. why not? Forrest is loved for his heart. he is not the most skilled. any top fighter in the UFC light heavy weight division would have the odds on favorite of taking the belt from him. Wanderlei, Jackson in a rematch, Chuck Lidell, Lyoto Machida, Thiago Silva, SOK, among a multiple set of other fights. if your Jardine, you have to feel ripped off entirely. he beats Forrest mistakenly accepts a fight with big banger Houston Alexander getting stopped before almost ending Houston, previously stopping Forrest, and of course most recently being destroyed by Wanderlei Silva. in the end, Jardine personifies everything the average fan hates. there is some sorta negative, condescending sense of portrayal in Jardine that people don't like despite his skill set. he beat Lidell legitimately and easily. Forrest isn't the best fighter. as he said, everyone else is scary. take for example, A. Silva who destroys men in 1-2rds top, GSP who has been oa one man wrecking crew since he lost to Sera, BJ Penn who has mangled Sherk & Stevenson whereas Forrest is just got a lot of heart, strong chin, and decent at best well rounded skill set. you can't help but pull for Forrest. i had no chance in the Jackson fight. i am happy for him but i don't believe he'll be there long unfortunately.
