I probably wouldn't call it the biggest event in MMA history, but it looks like a very good card, it should do huge numbers on PPV and it's a huge milestone for MMA and the UFC.

I think the fact that ESPN is calling it the biggest event is what makes it true. It's all about perception and impact, and if corporate America starts to trumpet something, then it's what mainstream Americans believe. Pride Shockwave 2005 may have been the shit for the purists, but outside of BBS fanboy postings, Joe Average didn't hear jack-shit about it.
Sherdoggers will piss and moan about no-one paying attention to MMA, but as soon as it gets press on the basic cable shows, they piss and moan that it's not the "right" coverage. FFS.

Who gives a shit what ESPN said?

Let's say it's NOT the biggest event? What the fuck does that change?

Nothing...it changes nothing.

And the rest of this thread is full of dickwads who are arguing about it...

pathetic

Your right, I hate when people won't accept the UFC as the biggest company in mma.
The people that keep loving pride and hate on ufc, should just grow a pair!

If Mir/Lesnar is the headliner of the "biggest event in MMA history" than thats embarassing for a variety of reasons.

Yeah? Especially, when you do have a clue if you're wrong. Unless, of course, you did call the pyschic hotline smart guy.
