I don't think it has the best card in MMA history, but that's the price we pay for getting a good card every month (sometimes 2). I definitely think it's gonna be the biggest MMA event in the US though.

Ummmmmm no.... How about you accept the fact that Pride put on bigger and better shows than the UFC ever dreamed of doing. Its a fact. Some of us miss that organization and the amazing cards/shows they put on for us. You get the fuck over it.

This is biased reporting, and there is no other conclusion. Nobody knows at all whether this will be the biggest event in history at this point. The Pride stadiums had a far greater capacity, as they used the Coliseum, I believe, which has a 92000-seat capacity.

The UFC opted for the Mandalay Bay Events Center which only accommodates approximately 11,000 spectators instead of the venue's sister property, the 14,700-capacity MGM Grand Garden Arena, where UFC 98 was held.

Why would they do that if this is the biggest event in MMA history as ESPN is now declaring in the latest MMA Live?
The Super Bowl is the biggest event in all of football. Is that biased against college football, the CFL, or Arena league? Get over it. The UFC IS the top organization in MMA, so their biggest show is MMA's biggest show.

Oh, and there was a time when AFL games outsold NFL games...but they're not around anymore either.

I agree...
The only people who post Pride hate are those who have never seen it live, during its day... They are angry that they were unable to experience it and they are sublimating that aggression...

Ur smoking..plain and simple.. Pride 1? no way, More like UFC 1.. I'll put it to you like this, If there we're no UFC there would be NO MMA TO WATCH!! Because PRIDE sunk themselves, They we're headed taht way regardless.. There would be NO mma to watch period!! Lord knows the only reason there are these little mma org sprouting everywhere(including affliction) is BECAUSE of the ufc & their success..
