Why Is ESPN Already Calling UFC 100 "The Biggest Event in MMA History?"
It easy to understand why the UFC is hyping it's own event with speculatory language prior to ticket sales, but I can't comprehend what John Anik and Franklin McNeil are doing already calling UFC 100 "the biggest event in MMA history" prior to a final tally on ticket sales or even 1 PPV buy.
This is biased reporting, and there is no other conclusion. Nobody knows at all whether this will be the biggest event in history at this point. The Pride stadiums had a far greater capacity, as they used the Coliseum, I believe, which has a 92000-seat capacity.
The UFC opted for the Mandalay Bay Events Center which only accommodates approximately 11,000 spectators instead of the venue's sister property, the 14,700-capacity MGM Grand Garden Arena, where UFC 98 was held.
Why would they do that if this is the biggest event in MMA history as ESPN is now declaring in the latest MMA Live?

Welcome to Corporate America. Where two giant media outlets can suck each other off, while cashing in the money.

They should just edit themselves next time and say, "the biggest event in UFC history."

Biggest doesn't have to mean the biggest gate and largest amount of PPV buys. Maybe its from a significance standpoint.
