judo just isnt as effective as jiu jitsu and most mma fighters have never trained judo

I love Judo and I think it will only gain more ground in MMA as time goes on. It has not been accepted as much as BJJ/wrestling/muay thai because of the prevalence of judo-only fighters. Of course you can't win with one art, but if one takes judo principles and techniques combined with other fighting styles, it is highly viable in today's MMA world.

Nobody in mma is "pure" anything, and you cant be a champion without cross training. I assume the word "pure" was designed to discount Fedor since he grew up learnign sambo and judo together. In that case I disagree with you- its common for many of the top juodka to grow up also practising another form of jacket wreslters -Sambo in Russia, Kurash in Uzbekisatn etc. The current word champions in judo are Georgia and all of their fighters also do Chidaoba and/or or Sambo.
