Isnt it ironic that the most Exciting Division has the most boring Champ
Why the UFC choose Sherk to fight for the LW title is beyond me. Ya he can beat most guys but it kills the most exciting division in the Sport. Who ever beats this guy will be a hero. Who do you guys think can bring a end to this snorefest and bring some excitement back to the LW Division?

Might have something to do with that whole wanting to have the best fighters thing the UFC is striving for? But you're right, Krazy Horse should've fought for the title.

Haha you got a point there, but they made the right decision about him fighting for the title, it's about who's the best fighter right? wrestling is a part of the sport, probably the most boring part, but it still counts as a way to win...deal with it

Sherk is good, but I'm not a fan of his. Kenny Florian was on spot with his remarks about fighting to finish it. Sherk is a boring. Did France even have a mark on his face? Why the fuck didn't the ref stand it up? It was painfully obvious that Sherk was doing NOTHING on top...
Oh well, hopefully BJ fights him, demolishes him and 155 can really show it's the premiere weight class in the UFC from the champ on down.

There's still the possibility of Penn fighting at 155, whom I think easily has the best chance of defeating Sherk. Aside from that there's guys like Tavares and Edgar who "might" give Sherk problems. Plus you have Pride 155ers such as Gilbert Melendez who could be a threat. Lightweight has the most depth out of any division in my opinion. If anything is ironic it's to say that Sherk is unbeatable after beating 2 LW's.

I never said he was unbeatable but its going to be real hard to beat him. His only losses on his record were because he got over powered by Hughes and GSP. Who in the LW division is going to overpower Sherk?

If I remember correctly, Sherk bettered his position consistently throughout the fight, tried a keylock, a north and south choke, a rear-naked and numerous arm triangles.
One fight in Hermes entire career ended up with Franca being finished.
What I saw was a clinic in terms of winning the positional battle and a BJJ blackbelt refusing to be submitted at any point during the fight.
