Former Cage Rage heavyweight champion and ADCC european champion. It was easy to see him beating Kongo on the ground if he had been able to get him down. The guy is not a can, though I admit he seemed outclassed in the UFC so I dunno.

And any doubts to his britishness should be gone when he opens his mouth, guy has terrible teeth and a cockney accent

i picked Rashad, Quinton and Nog. Kongo and CB were locks in my book. The one that shocked me most was Nog. Felt bad watchin him get destroyed like that. Damn.

I chose Page (fav fighter), Nog, Kongo (I have yet to pick against him), and Rashad. I actually put money on Nog and Page, for which I came out even above even because Page was such a dog.

Whoever saw it coming...

Now instead of possible upsets, i'm looking forward to probable upsets, so -

Coleman > Shogun - rear naked arm breakage

Mir > Lesnar - leglock#2

Evans > Rampage/Machida/Thiago - Brutal KO

All of my faith is now in Michael Bisping, 3 and 0, the count is bringing it back...
Sorry buddy, i was going against you the whole way, the only person i thought would win was Nog but was pulling for MIR

My picks were actually Wandy, Griffin, Al Turk and Big Nog

I believe Mir Nog was one of the biggest mis matches I had ever seen, still do but credit Mir

Wandy needs to stop swinging and not protecting himself

Al Turk wasnt looking terrible but Kongo's stand up, TDD has improved and is much more aggressive, I still think he isn't but top 15, but fuck ranking

and Griffin I never pick but assumed he'd lose for Evans and I was right

Oh Well, can't wait to UFC 93 and Affliction and UFC 94 coming up, DRMEA FW and WW tourney, 09 is gonna be bananas

Wow, if anything, I am surprised by the number of people who picked these guys to win. I think that a lot of people give way too much credit for past success. Each fight is it's own fight and really, only the past 2 or 3 fights matter.

Kongo/Al Turk: Honestly, I think that the ONLY reason ANYONE would pick or root for Al Turk is because of hate for Kongo. I personally like the guy. He has holes in his game, but he is a very solid fighter who is right up there with the best. Al Turk was just a can waiting to be crushed.

Rampage/Wanderlei: I think that people who picked Wanderlei to win are either just huge fans or are living in the past. I think Wanderlei still has what it takes to be a contender, but he clearly hasn't improved much since his PRIDE days. Rampage, on the other hand, has improved greatly since PRIDE. I think Wanderlei could have beat him, but it damn sure wasn't a lock like most had it. Rampage was just too determined and is too good to drop 3 against the same guy.

Mir/Nog: Nog hasn't looked great since going to the UFC. His reputation is the only reason Mir was the first to finish him instead of Sylvia or Herring who were both afraid. The holes were showing, it just took someone to have the balls to try to exploit him. I knew Mir would not be afraid of Nog's subs and would have a chance to TKO him if he got a knockdown, but I had no idea that Mir would destroy Nog the way he did. I like Nog, but I am not a fan of the "invincible" fighter. Anyone can be stopped or KOed, and Hendo is next.

Evans/Griffin: I thought Griffin had no chance, and was expecting him to go down in the first round. Griffin is a good fighter, but Rashad is a bad matchup for him. Although Griffin has improved since the Jardine fight, I thought that Jackson's guys had his number and that Rashad would handle Forrest in a similar manner as Jardine. That being said, I am now curious as to how Rashad would handle a more aggresive fighter like Houston Alexander or Wanderlei Silva. Will he also fold the way Jardine does?

As for disappointments, I wasn't disappointed in any of the outcomes, however, I expected a better fight from Wanderlei. Obviously, the guy can't help it if his lights go out, but I was expecting him to respond to big punches with big punches of his own.
