Much for the same reason Houston Alexander had such hype following his KO win over Jardine. It was in devastating fashion, and really... who doesn't want to see that? To many people a win isn't a win. A devastating KO is more than just a win, it's complete domination. I don't agree with this stance, but i understand it.

It took rich clementi 2 rounds and getting knocked down a few times and slammed before he subbed him. AJ took that fight on 2 weeks notice, thats why it was a catch weight fight, he came in at like 176.
He gassed it happens, an since that fight he has stayed in constant shape to be ready at a moments notice.
Its not hype, its potential, an thats what he displays a lot of so dont hate.
Gsp also lost to Matt serra, tko'd, he tapped from strikes, so i doubt he will "tool" him.

Depends on how many times he fights a year and against who, he might never be a contender in the UFC, or he might end up being one by the middle or end of next year.
