What strategies would you use if you were Dan Henderson or Anderson Silva?

The more I think about this question, the farther away from an answer I get. On one hand you have someone who has been doing Muay Thai since he was old enough to walk, and on the other side you have someone who has been doing Greco-Roman wrestling for about the same amount of time. Who would want to clinch with them besides maybe the other one?

BOTH have shown you want to avoid standing at range with them, Dan with his hands and Anderson with pretty much everything else. Finally one is an Olympic level wrestler and the other is a black belt in BJJ.

How would you defeat Dan Henderson if you were Anderson Silva and how would you defeat Silva if you were Henderson?

if i were silva id try to do as much damage as possible
Dan has always been hard to beat, and battering him ala silva/hendo I has got to at least slow him down enough so i can land that fight ending knee

one of the absolute best contrasts of styles ever.

Dan needs to not get caught in throwing the right hand.

Anderson needs to watch the takedown and keep Dan from passing and GnPing like Lutter was doing when he mounted Anderson.

I don't think Dan has ever been "caught" with a shot before actually. He has always had excellent stand up and will surprise Anderson if Silva thinks he can just do whatever he wants there.

Also, Lutter taking Silva down and passing was after Silva was coming off knee surgery. Nate Marquart couldn't do that to Silva and Nate is a much better fighter than Travis IMO.

I think Silva should be focusing on keeping his angles and working Dans legs early in the fight. Silva doesn't want it to turn into a brawl, keep it nice and clean. Henderson should throw shots to the body of Silva. Silva is a tall lanky fighter and I think Dan can find some success by working the body and then going for a clinch takedown once Anderson has lost some steam.

Mind really draws a blank on this one. Anderson has that pinpoint accuracy and hows showcased his ground abilities in his latest matches. Henderson on the other hand has KO dynamite in both fists which is almost an anomoly when it comes to wrestlers. They both have some wind too. Im going to pull a Bas and Quadros on this one:

I don't know whos going to win this fight, Im not gonna call it!

Henderson needs to control the clinch with take down attempts, and once it's down, he needs to find dominant position and work GnP.

Silva needs to stay on the outside and pick Henderson apart.

Either man has equal chance of winning this fight.

I think he has to muscle him around the cage. Go for some takedowns. Throw some big right hands, press him against the cage, control positioning and just wear him out. I don't think he can knock out silva early. But some people forget Dan has an amazing chin himself. Sometimes Dan gasses a little and he better be ready for this fight. Silva is not the guy to face if you get tired and can't get your hands up defensively.
