BJ wasnt hurt.....he completely gassed. Matt just outlasted BJ and finished the fight.

People make fun of Sherk and call him the "Muscle Blanket" or other names, however he has 32 wins, 9 which are TKO's, 12 submissions, and 11 decisions, which means 21 of his wins are fights which he finished. (Who his opponents were might come under questions to some people.) But his finishes are greater then his decisions.

This fight is so great because it is so hard to call. If it goes 3 rounds or less, I see Penn taking it. But 3 or more rounds, I see Sherk winning it.

Sherk has two ways to win, one is grinding out a 5 round decision (I don't like his plan of grinding on people for 5 rounds, why doesn't he just try to finish people earlier?) or tire Penn out (which is realistically something he might be able to do) and finish BJ while Penn is exhausted.

I think this board would go nuts if Sherk finished Penn.

I believe that the longer it goes, the worse it will be for Penn. I think if it is 3 rounds or less, Penn will win, I think he will stun Sherk with strike and then get a submission on him. I don't see him catching Sherk in a submission otherwise. Sherk also has a great chin. If it goes 3 rounds or more, I see Sherk taking it. More then likely by decision. I don't see him finishing Penn, but you never know, I never thought Gonzaga would KO Cro Cop either.

You my friend smoke too much weed, not going to happen.

You live in lala land. Well, if sherk does beat penn, then i penns future is doomed. For the simple fact he doesnt look like a jelly bean and is in shape looking like the old penn. About sherk, he would be ranked up there in his div. and lean alot on his match. I just think penn is going to be to much for him to handle. striking wise and ground game wise. i dont see him keeping penn on the ground for that long. Penn by sub or k.o. just my opinion.

There's no way Sherk is going to finish Penn. He has no where near the submission skills as BJ and his striking isn't as good either. If anything Penn will be the one finishing Sherk.

Better question. Could Sherk take Gomi? We already know BJ can.

It would be equivalent to Serra finishing GSP - a guy with no wins against the big boys, but is kind of able to hang - but just doesn't have enough.

If Sherk finishes Penn then IMO he is number 2 in the world behind Gomi,I hope this fight is good usually when there is this much bad blood the fights are either hit or miss.I've got Penn I think is Sherk couldnt finish Florian or Franca is 5 rds of him being on top and passing guard then he is not going to finish Penn
