Yeah, and? Why are you gonna support him then? He has the potential to be the be all end all of MMA fighters, but he doesn't care. That's a slap in the face to you. It's like waiting for the Old Vitor. You keep thinking ''maybe this time he'll be in shape...'' and then he disappoints you again. Then you go make excuses for him. It's a vicious circle.

yeah

Whether you are a BJ fan or a Sherk fan, whether you think one will win or the other, fuck it, it's a great fight! I'll be there and am really looking forward to it.

My only rebuttal is that it's really misinformed to compare the Scott Ferrozo Killer to the guy who has multiple weight class championships. His motivations remain to be seen.

People make fun of Sherk and call him the "Muscle Blanket" or other names, however he has 32 wins, 9 which are TKO's, 12 submissions, and 11 decisions, which means 21 of his wins are fights which he finished. (Who his opponents were might come under questions to some people.) But his finishes are greater then his decisions.

This fight is so great because it is so hard to call. If it goes 3 rounds or less, I see Penn taking it. But 3 or more rounds, I see Sherk winning it.

Sherk has two ways to win, one is grinding out a 5 round decision (I don't like his plan of grinding on people for 5 rounds, why doesn't he just try to finish people earlier?) or tire Penn out (which is realistically something he might be able to do) and finish BJ while Penn is exhausted.

I think this board would go nuts if Sherk finished Penn.

I believe that the longer it goes, the worse it will be for Penn. I think if it is 3 rounds or less, Penn will win, I think he will stun Sherk with strike and then get a submission on him. I don't see him catching Sherk in a submission otherwise. Sherk also has a great chin. If it goes 3 rounds or more, I see Sherk taking it. More then likely by decision. I don't see him finishing Penn, but you never know, I never thought Gonzaga would KO Cro Cop either.

Sherk has never finished a top 10 opponent. Period. End of Thread, I volunteer to be banned if Sherk finishes Penn

when was the last time bj went to the 5th round? i think sherk is going to come out faster than we have ever seen him. he wants to prove him self, and he wants to shut bj up. i can see sherk stoping bj in the 5th round. i thinks the fight is 50/50

Oh no doubt about it, it's gonna be the fight of the year as far as I'm concerned. Wish I was going to it but I'll be watching from my couch.

I can guarantee the last time he went to the fifth round he wasn't training half as diligently as he is now...but he got there none the less.

This is a good point, and one which should be noted.

I would however add one thing you don't mention, namely that there are different levels of both natural ability, and peak potential even when it comes to cardio.

I.e., the ceiling for BJ Penn's cardio, even if reached, might be lower than Sherk's is even on a mediocre day.
