What Do You Find More Respectable A Boxing Title Or A Mma Title?

So what do you find more respectable or which do you find holds more clout?, a boxing title or a mma title? I find a boxing title to be a greater achievement versus a mma title, mainly for the lack of history and depth in mma. Archaeological evidence suggests boxing existed as early as 4000 BC! Around 800 BC a mythical Greek ruler allegedly invented a form of boxing in which two men fought face to face, ultimately until one of them was killed.

Now in comparison with MMA history. Reportedly some no-holds-barred events did take place in the late 1800s, when a criminal was going to be hanged in the gallows and managed to break himself free,...this is when law men or vigilantes had to use a style known as "catch wrestling" to detain the criminal.

The vogue for "mixed match combat" such as "shoot" & Ground & Pound would soon die out after the first world war. It was during the war in which these tactics would cause severe casualties. As soldiers from either side would advance and "Shoot" into the trenches!! It has been estimated that up to one third of allied casualties on the Western Front were actually sustained in the trenches due to the "shoot" technique.

Despite the seesaw effect Mixed Martial Arts was having with western culture, it would gain some international exposure in the U.S. in 1993. In Japan in 1997, continued interest in the sport eventually resulted in the creation of PRIDE.

I'm guessing whatever it was they found in that archeological dig was far closer to what we know as MMA than boxing.

That point aside, yeah.... alright.... whatever you say.

The Pride belt has also been around since 4,000 BC and it has been defended twice. Another miraculous feat.

That was seriously the worst rundown of the history of MMA ever. I hope you were being satirical. In that case that history is pretty dang funny.

Although boxing has been around longer than MMA I lost alot of respect for it due to the curruption and politics namely Don King. The macthmaking process such as him giving Tyson a title shot as soon as he came out of jail was ridiculous in my opinion. Other than that though a boxing title in a big fight on ppv will bring in alot more money than current MMA titles are bringing now. Guys like Oscar De La hoya are bringing in millions for every fight hes in and until MMA organizations can pay fighters that kind of though a boxing title will bring more prestige.
