So what do you find more respectable or which do you find holds more clout?, a boxing title or a mma title? I find a boxing title to be a greater achievement versus a mma title, mainly for the lack of history and depth in mma. Archaeological evidence suggests boxing existed as early as 4000 BC!

Around 800 BC a mythical Greek ruler allegedly invented a form of boxing in which two men fought face to face, ultimately until one of them was killed.
Now in comparison with MMA history.

Reportedly some no-holds-barred events did take place in the late 1800s, when a criminal was going to be hanged in the gallows and managed to break himself free,...this is when law men or vigilantes had to use a style known as "catch wrestling" to detain the criminal.
The vogue for "mixed match combat" such as "shoot" & Ground & Pound would soon die out after the first world war. It was during the war in which these tactics would cause severe casualties. As soldiers from either side would advance and "Shoot" into the trenches!! It has been estimated that up to one third of allied casualties on the Western Front were actually sustained in the trenches due to the "shoot" technique.
Despite the seesaw effect Mixed Martial Arts was having with western culture, it would gain some international exposure in the U.S. in 1993. In Japan in 1997, continued interest in the sport eventually resulted in the creation of PRIDE.
