What did Joe Rogan say?
OK, I realize this has probably been discussed. I did a quick search here and on Google and found very little comment about Rogan's "rape choke" comment during UFN.
Did he really say that? I was watching and thought that's what I heard. I checked with other friends/fans who said they heard the same thing. Now I hear some folks saying he said "rake choke."
The problem is, IF he did say rape choke he should be fired. Plain and simple. This sport doesn't need that kind of "edge" to it. It's not funny. It's not an MMA term. It's absolutely in poor taste.
The UFC already has to overcome Dana's lack of public polish in selling the sport. The sport sells itself to the hardcore fan. As it explodes it needs to reach into new demographics. Rape choke reaches zero demographics. I work in this sport and this is not how I want to be represented.
But, if he did in fact say "rake" choke then, as Gildna Radner used to say on SNL ... "never mind."
What's the word out there? I'm playing catch up on this one.
