WEC loses 9 million homes...

Hopefully a deal can be made soon. I still get Versus but I know that obviously a shit load of people don't. I feel for them.

If true there would be no better time than now to merge WEC and UFC. Should have been done a long time ago, but the WEC fighters are starting to get a little bit of a following and if the UFC wants to continue to put on the same amount of programming this will give them more quality fighters to deal with.

Comcast owns VS and now Comcast owns NBC. I'm curious to see what happens in the early to mid quarters of 2010.

So are you saying that this would be the first time someone said a rumor wasnt true to only have the exact opposite happen?

I know that both Dana and Reed Harris have both denied the rumor, but if Versus is losing veiwership than it is just bad business to stay on the channel. Then if WEC does leave Versus (and yes I know the just extended the contract they had with them) then it would only make sense if they merged with the UFC.

I'm not personally saying they won't. I've been pro-merge for a long time. I was just providing available info regarding the situation.

Don't shoot the messenger......

WEC 45 is DOOMED.
Without DirecTV they got 420k, now it's probably gonna be half of that.

Not shooting the messanger just trying to have a good conversation about this. My point is more to the fact that I like watching the guys in the WEC and Versus seems to keep losing households that its availible in so why screw up that company anymore cause it's hard to believe that they're making money and just merge them with the more stable UFC.

For sure, I think that the addition of the WEC roster would be huge for the UFC and for the WEC fighters themselves.

1. The talent they have deserves to be showcased on a much larger scale.

2. The tiny guys are the shit.

3. Having two more weight classes and the WEC's roster will help a lot in times of fighters withdrawing from fights due to whatever. Which has been a lot lately.

4. No sense in staying on Versus when they are constantly backpeddling.

5. It's just simply the right thing to do. Especially going into a new year and all the new markets.

6. Provide some depth to the cards so that Koscheck isn't fighting on every fucking card.

7. I could go for days.

Cons:

1. Hmmmmmm.....
