INTERVIEW: Serra's Coach Ray Longo

For those who saw the countdown show and were thinking "who is Ray Longo?" after all he was saying... Ray is Serra's striking coach. Ray runs a Martial Arts Studio on Long Island, where he teaches Boxing, Muay Thai and American Kickboxing. His notable students in MMA are Serra, Luke Cummo, and Pete Sell. He also trains Nick Serra (2-2 in MMA) and George Sotiropoulos, an Australian WW new to the UFC in 2007.

For those that missed it: on the countdown show, he came across as basically saying "We know GSP is mentally weak, so we just have to show up and he will fold like a wet shirt." Both he and Matt's brother Nick came across as pretty ignorant and disrespectful.

I thought it may be worthwhile for folks to see another short recent interview with Ray for some more insight.

New Yorkers talking trash, no way!

If Serra can pull off a victory w/o accidental hits to the back of GSP's head, I"ll be impressed, but I seriously doubt this will ever happen. Lytle, his previous fight, took him to a very close decision, who isn't even top 10.
