In no point of Wanderlei Silva's MMA career, would I have expected him to take that hook from Rampage and not go completely out. Anybody else agree? Hell, had Rampage connected that cleanly on Chuck at 71, I might've expected to see Chuck be put out completey for the first time.

I agree, but I add that what enabled the chance for the hook and Wand's career turn is a combination of: a bit of Rampage's increased skills - back in the day he would just cover & wing block the flurry

Mostly Wand throwing his oblique twisting, arm punches SOO much slower than he used to - back in the day he could get away w/ staying in the pocket like that when he could machine gun 50 punches, not anymore.
He stayed in the middle range danger zone, not in what would be his advantageous clinch or far leg kick range (as Quadros stated in his prediction) and was caught.
