Um, Dana doesn't say he's going to cut him so your title is misleading. He said he has to get some wins to stay in the UFC, if he loses against Jardine, there is always a possibility of him staying.

My understanding of his statement is, Wanderlei has to get a win for his own sake, ie confidence.

2] Wanderlei Silva has to get some wins to stay in the UFC, if not this fight then in future fights, at 205 or 185.

That is my interpretation of Dana's statement.

This interview may have been taken slightly out of context. Dana LOVES Wand because he puts it all on the line for the fans and fights like a fuckin maniac. If he loses, he will get at LEAST one more fight at 205. If he drops I'd say he gets two at 185 before he gets cut. They worked too hard to get him. If you think about it the purchase of Pride really only got the UFC Nog, Shogun, Hendo and Wand. The rest of the commodities that came over were just extra pieces but those were the big four that made the deal. Wand was possibly the most wanted commodity of the four because Dana wanted the fight with Chuck so much.
