Is GSP becoming predictable?

His gameplan is always lull his opponent into a stand up fight, take them down g&p.

there is nothing WRONG with this but it's become somewhat predictable.

IE vs.

hughes (x3), bj, sherk, trigg, mayhem, serra, koscheck.

Only hughes (x2) he implemented a diff gameplan recently

Even if it is predictable, it hasn't helped his opponents one bit. They always seem flabbergasted when GSP takes them down. It's a natural reaction to experiencing the riddum.

Being predictable means that people can develop a counter-strategy. That strategy only works when they're phenomenally talented or lucky.

GSP's GnP is much more difficult to effectively counter than a LHK.

Fedor and Anderson are fairly predictable, doesn't mean anything can be DONE against those skillsets though.

About as predictable as Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Anderson Silva, etc. etc. Its just GSP. He'll stand when he wants, and he'll take you down when he wants. A fighter fights the same pretty much everytime, that doesnt make him predictable. You can train to avoid the single leg but then watch as you get faked and kicked in the head.

Its fighting man....theres no way you can predict anything. You can only assume.

I see what you are saying, but every fighter has a strength that they usually try to play to. By the same logic, the following fighters are also predictable:

Matt Hughes
Nick Diaz
Anderson Silva
Randy
Chuck
Rampage

You pretty much know what these guys are going to do. And yet, we still love to see them do it!

I think a Kos rematch, with Josh being much better prepared and dedicated to td defense could be a great fight. GSP is hesitant to stand and trade. With some work, kos could exploit that.

Predictable? Hardly! He was so unpredictable against Serra that Ray Longo (cornerman) was telling Serra that "I don't know what he's doing, he may try and stand with you this round."
