UFN's Best Match (2nd at least)
While Silva vs Laben will be the main card, maybe the best fight of the night will be Jorge Grugel vs Mark Hominick. These are two kick ass lightweight fighters. Do you guys think the winner of this match will get the 1st shoot at the new establsihed champion?

I think it has potential, but I think Gurgel is too big for him........although Hominick looked really good on his feet against Yves and ended up subbing him, Gurgel is 10 times the grappler that Yves is, and Hominick's only chance is to KO him. Gurgel by sub rd. 2. IMO.

maybe...i think fisher should get it and will...maybe the winner of this fights fisher for the shot...even if fisher has to fight melvin. That will be a pointless 4 minute fight i will love.

Gurgel really hasn't shown much, IMO. His best win is against Jason Ireland, and even in that fight he was really sloppy. Ireland was completely gassed, and not defending at all, and Gurgel still couldn't take him down reliably, or KO him. Hominick, on the other hand, has shown to be tough as nails, and more than able to defend himself on the ground. I think Hominick keeps most of this fight standing, and picks Jorge apart. Second round TKO for Hominick.

Dude, Leben vs Silva is going to be an awesome fight. An extremely technical striker vs the brawler in Leben. This is going to be the fight that Rivera vs Leben should have been. Alot of the sherdog vets are completely counting Leben out of this one but anyone with Heavy hands and a chin as strong as his can win.

I don't think either guy is close to being in the championship run yet - both need a solid 2-3 wins to be a legitimate contender.
I think some combination of Spencer Fisher, the winner of Stevenson/Yves, and the loser of Stout/Florian will make up the contender of the 1st LW defense (unless the UFC brings in a legit contender to step up right away).
Also, look out for Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves - if that fight gets put on tv, expect some entertainment.

It should be agreat fight and I am curious to see Jorge fight. Probably the only TUF2 alumni that I actually liked (Cummo is cool too). The UFC definatley has to start setting up the division for a title fight so it is possible the winner of this fight will be one of the 1st choices. But it won't be their next fight. There still need to be a few more lightweight matches to really determine who the contenders are. After all, there have only been a handful of LW fights so far and most of the fighters have only fought once. The championship bout will be set up after a few more UFC LW fights...probably around December or so. Howevere, in the end it will be whoever wins a spot to fight Sherk for the title as I don't see anyone stopping him at 155.

What if the UFC brought in Tyson Griffen...do you think he should get a title shoot asap?
