it will not be easy to find an german commentator who has the knowledge of the sport and enough experience with broadcasting to heat on the viewers.
add to it that ufc commenting has usually its own kind of censoring.

thoughts anyone?
get dennis siver or someone he knows to commentate.

Well I think your english is perfectly good.

But with regard to the UFC in Germany I think theres alot of things that haven't been worked out yet, which is why we haven't heard more.

I'm also concerned about how it will be portrayed in the German media. You have confirmed what I've been reading elsewhere, that its not a very friendly atmosphere.

I'd like to see Randy vs Chuck 5 in Germany. That's not a typo, I think they should fight once before that too.

I think it will do OK but it will just be a test run.

It should be free, american time delay issue, plus not enough Germans would buy, plus you are trying to build an audience.

It will not have any blockbuster fights becasue all eyes will already be on UFC 100.
You could get Chuck, Randy and Nog to fight becasue they are all coming off loses and are big names that might have some drawing power.

Randy was a german major in college and stationed 4 years in germany. He wrestled for a german team so he is perfect to tour the popular TV shows.

Simply take Bas Rutten as commentator. His german is really good. Been on a Rutten seminar and he did it completly in german.

UFC 99: Asozial

UFC 99: Ami Azis

UFC 99: America apologizes for Tom Cruise

UFC 99: Obama vs. Merkel
(Angela by rear-naked)
Kohl vs. Lesnar
(Kohl by split decision)
Undercard: Schröder vs Lafontaine

I read somewhere in the last couple months that Raab is an MMA fan, or at least conversant in Jits.

I do think that it makes a lot of sense to do this as a European event. Bisping might attract a few people from across the Channel, plus maybe Paul Taylor or another Brit. Maybe Sakara could lure some Italians over the Alps. Then there are some fighters working out of Poland or originally from Poland who could also be valuable, like Krzysztof Soszynski or Mamed Khalidov. There are some French and plenty of Dutch fighters, and a couple of Scandinavians on the UFC roster, including Martin Kampmann and David Bielkheden. They'd be fools to leave Kongo out of UFC 99, since he's French, and Germans love to admire big Africans (schau, was der fuer natuerliche Bewegungen hat). Don't forget the large immigrant population in Germany, which means that a Russian, Balkan, Turkish or Middle Eastern fighter could put Hintern in Sitze. Too bad they dropped Kro Kop. Where's Tony Halme when you need him?

Between putting the first UFC show on the continent and tossing people in various surrounding countries a bone by putting one of their guys on the card, while sprinkling in some other dynamic fighters and a couple legit names, you can certainly sell tickets to that event. If they can attract a few hundred fans each from several surrounding countries, that could add up to 2,000-3,000 before you even start selling to Germans. I would expect that US servicemen might also attend in good numbers.

The television issues are beyond my knowledge, but I think the UFC needs to view this event as a loss leader, if necessary. They need to be on free TV in Europe to stoke demand for future events with both fans and advertisers. If it does well, maybe Randy vs. Fedor in Berlin in 2010?
