When the news came up of UFC coming to Germany in June, the german website reported that Randy Couture is already booked for the TV-show TV-Total one week before UFC 99 is going to be held. This show is hosted by Stefan Raab as some of you may know.
The Lanxess Arena is a pretty good venue, although I think that the upper area ( those parts higher located than the VIP cabins) will be closed for the actual event. They used to do that for international music acts already.
To sum everything up I don't think that we are talking about more than 10.000 seats for an event like this.
Concerning the commentator they are hopefully able to get one from Eurosport.Hopefully it won't be those two who commentate WWE here in Germany. At the moment the only option is Tobias Drews, a german box commentator but he is boring as hell.
Nevertheless I am looking forward to UFC 99, although I have a certain feeling that Germany's yellow press will be all over this '' brutal inhuman modern gladiator stuff''.
In Germany it is really hard to organize an event like this because MMA simply has no lobby.
We'll see......

thoughts anyone?

Randy? I just wonder how good his German is.

I hate to say that but putting Brock Lesnar on the card would sell tickets here in Germany because of his time in WWE. I know, I know but there are definately more people, especially around the age of 20 -30 who remember this guy from the TV screen.
@ TS: I am from Cologne as well, by the way

his german is not good enough.
he will likely be on the card.
he will be introduced as hall of famer, appear in some ty-shows and stuff like that.
but not as a commentator.

the event should be free on tv like they did it in the uk.
to explain the "premiere" situation to non german people: it is a ppv channel but you need a monthly abonnement of like 20-30 i think. so not many people have access to it. to be honest i dont know one person that has it. on top of that its mostly football fans who have, because premiere airs football.
all boxing events even with the superstars like klitschko, abraham, sturm, floyd meayweather etc are aired for free because nobody in germany would pay for it.

The guy from Europsport Fight Night should commentate the Event imo. He has the most knowledge and isnt as annoying and boring like the others.
