UFC99: Blitzkrieg (thoughts)

Also, Dennis Silver could be put on the card to appeal to the local crowd.

if the ufc really wants to break into the german market they have to make free-tv-deal.
like i said ppv isn´t established here.
making it a ppv on the "premiere" channel (where some older events already took place) will not gather them any NEW fans.
maybe the ufc will make more an european then a german event.
people from holland, belgium and france will come to see it.
they will make good cash at the gate.
the most ppv´s still will be sold in america.

that would be contradictory to getting dutch and french people into the arena.
polish fans will not come to that event, too.

he's fighting Ivan Serati at 93. if he wins he'll still be in the UFC, otherwise I'm not sure.

I did a little research, and the event IS really happening. Couture vs. Minotauro is rumored as the main event.

After the Ireland event we will probably know more.

big names will prob not be on this card they'll be holding them back for ufc 100. if you ask me this card will probly just be a time filler like the ufc 95 card

Hallo Freunde,

I also remember the show which aired on dsf a few weeks back then. The actual comentator was quite good imo, that should be the least problem.
But I also remember all the media talking bad about the sport. In germanies biggest newspaper BILD (if you like to call it a newspaper) they wrote how violent the sport is bla bla...

it will be pretty tough to get a decent tv-deal here cause the sport is not known to the general public. imagine, there isn't even a proper mma gym in munich, and munich is one of germany's greatest cities population wise...

plus...on top of all concerns boxing is still the number two sport right behind football or as you like to call it soccer...tv ratings go through the roof when vladimir, vitali, sturm and abraham box...

to sum it up...it's definately worth a shot bringing the ufc over here but I think it will be the first and last show in germany...
