First i think that UFC needs to promote the sport in Europe...

KölnArena would be the perfect venue if they fill it to capacity around 21.000 may fit. But selling tickets would be a bitch. A lot of dutch and french people might come over, but there's very little interest among the locals. Tickets will not be cheap either.

one additional anecdote to the lanxess arena:

the public viewing for final of the european soccer cup between germany and spain which was held in (and around) that arena was hosted from podest in the middle of the arena.
that podest totally reminded me of the measurements of the octagon.
it was about the time when the ufc first time announced that they will create events around the world and in germany.
that was the first time i got a little pumped!!!

There is little news around here in holland about the event.

But it is already possible to buy tickets, so me and a friend already bought 2 tickets for the event.

here in holland there aren,t many people that now the ufc ,but the hardcore fans now that there is an event coming to germany.
