UFC WEC co-promotion ppv

I think that a ppv co-promotion between the UFC and the WEC could really help out both promotions. First off, people have been complaining that some of the UFC ppv of late have been a little lack luster (ie no title fights etc.). If they did a co-promotion ppv quarterly there would then be no excuse for this. It would then add the BW and FW classes to the mix every so often. Also, you would have the availability of using 4 more belts (the WEC LW, WW, MW, and LHW). We may also get the chance to see non-title Champion VS Champion match-ups like Silva Vs Filho. We could even see some of the smaller LW in the UFC drop down to fight in WEC FW class for the cards. This could make for some tremendous match-ups IMO.

This could also add the ever so needed depth to the WEC. If a UFC fighter were to defeat a WEC fighter for a belt you would assume that the UfC fighter would then jump ship to the WEC to defend said belt. No longer could people call the WEC the UFC's minor league. It would also expose the average fan to some of the amazing fighters that are within the WEC. This would most definitely help out the WEC free show ratings and attendance.

I would also like to see the WEC due away with there LHW class (who do they have anyways, right). This would give the UFC two heavier weight classes than the WEC, and the WEC two weight classes lighter than the UFC. This would really set the two brands apart from one another.

Just wondering what every one thinks of a co-promotion between the two brands, and what some the match-ups you guys would like to see are.

this would never happen. WEC would do good on ppv though.

I don't know about that? Dana is all about MONEY. If he could see the $$$$ that a couple of super cards per year could produce I think he would give it a try. Especially if he wants to see the WEC flourish.

Since both orgs are owned by Zuffa, I don't see why it would happen. I think they want WEC to stand on it's own and flourish, which there is every indication it might do.

WEC has been described as a 'farm' system for UFC. I don't know if that is entirely accurate (Pulver, Filho?) but it serves as a platform for fighters of a lesser status and skillset to show their talent. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but some might not fare so well in UFC or another org with established fighters.

I agree some would due well and some wouldn't. But if they put UFC mid tier or even upper tier fighters in a WEC title fight, and they won that could help grow the brand. Some more UFC fighters would then be fighting in the WEC (defending belts). They could even have some of the TUF guys fight some of the up and coming WEC guys. Lets be honest a lot of this seasons TUF guys would be destroyed in the UFC.

WEC needs to be built up a lot more before co-promotion. Faber is their biggest star and competes in a weightclass UFC doesn't have. WEC's lightweight champion is good, but would get demolished by whoever the UFC lw champion will end up being.

Filho has looked like ass, and their LHW champ would get pwnd by ... Elvis Sinosic.

It wouldn't have to be a UFC champ vs a WEC champ. It could be a ufc 10-20 guy vs a WEC champ.

I completely agree agree about Filho, but the Elvis thing may have been pushing it.

I'm just saying it would help grow the WEC brand and add some more belt fights to the ppv. Even if it weere a WEC vs WEC title fight.
