UFC The Puppet Masters big plans??
Lets try this again...IMO Due to Cro cop getting offers from the WFA, Dana is smart and he will let the WFA or other organizations fit the bill for Cro Cops US build up (CC usually does one fight deals anyway)THEN steal him away when he KNOWS the US audience will poney up the "cheddar" to watch him dominate, as well as he is picking at the carcass of Pride due to their finacial difficulties, in the long term is this going to provide the fans with better MMA cross promotions or is this the beginning of TOTAL UFC promotional domination aka the "puppet masters" of North American & eventual world promotions?...nuff said, Your thoughts?

Well I agree on UFC's strategy. It seems to be a very good one for a long term. If they brought in Crocop(a no namer in America) for the kind of money he costs, they would at first lose money. Why introduce someone that will cost them money to promote and build while they are paying him top coin..a guy who isn't even a draw in the states?
They'll pretend these guys don't exist until another promotion comes along and promotes them, wasting their money in order to give these fighters a name..and then when they have drawing power, the UFC will bid for them. In this way the UFC saves a lot of money building fighters and only cashes in on their popularity.. ironically, what all these other promotions are trying to do to the UFC in America in the first place(by trying to use their momentum to build themselves up)

everyone is looking into the crocop thing way too much.......you all assume it's because pride is falling apart, and not because crocop is greedy. If pride gave into his demands then all the fighters would want 2x pay.

Exactly. I've said that constantly, and people here seem to think they can guess the future - assuming that Pride hasn't considered that sort of result.

UFC won't fork out the $$$$ .... that would change the playing field forever. I think they'll sit back and watch the WFA blow all their money then go tits up in a few years. Dana & company will then have the last laugh......

I'm in the medical field and the current"greed" factor and my competitors are cutting each others throat, if these organization & fighters are not careful... MMA could end up like Boxing in 10 years...

if i was the UFC theres no way in hell i would go after CC... hes not worth the payday to destroy the division and bringing him in would automatically increase everybody elses pay...
like the threadstarter said let the WFA build him up (they have no top 15 HW's if any) and pay him... they will soon be broke just like last time if they take as big of a loss as they did on the last show and the UFC can swoop in... by that time (another year) the contracts will have slightly swollen and they will have some more talent to at least compete w/ him...
plus they would probably only use him for two or three PPV's... im sure the UFC would rather have a more marketable champ to the US audience (at least until 5-6 years down the road when the audience gets educated and ability superceeds marketablity)
i see CC staying w/ Pride though... (i think they will increase the GP purse)
