I'm going to Affliction, I'll just watch the UFC fights online when I get home on Monday.

Barnett has done PLENTY to earn a shot at Fedor. They should've fought years ago.
I'm assuming Sylvia's getting the first shot because of name recognition with the American crowd (not to mention they were in a rush to sign Fedor vs a big name).

You have to think too that the UFC event on july 5th is going to affect the buyrate for the Affliction card as well. Not too many people want to shell out an extra hundred dollars for their cable bill to watch 2 MMA events in a month.
I will be watching both, but the casual fans are more than likely going to pick the UFC.

The casual fans won't be watching cause they have no clue its going on. Affliction should fire their marketing people.

Since you wanna question integrities of titles, what if Sylvia defeats Fedor, then Affliction has a champion that lost 2 of his last 3 fights in the big org they're trying to compete against. They really should have used Barnett for that fight instead of Sylvia.
If Anderson loses it does nothing to the integrity of his title seeing how it'll just be spun as him fighting 20 pounds above his natural weightclass and taking the fight on short notice. UFC's marketing >> Affliction's.

i agree with you completely on this one. though i wanna see the affliction card just to watch fedor lose for once, UFC has me sold with anderson silva fighting at 205. they could not have picked a better draw to go against affliction with. anderson silva will be stealing the PPV buys they wanted for that evening due to it being free. sucks to be affliction right now. still gonna find a way to watch both though. i'm pretty excited to see arlovski and fedor both fight again. even though i hope fedor loses, i am still a huge fan.

True about the american name recognition, but I think the reason he never fought Fedor in Pride had to do with the fact that he wasn't able to get past Mirko.

You have to think too that the big names on the Affliction card aren't big names to the casual fan.
With the exception of Arlovski who is a fan favorite, Sylvia wasn't well liked in the UFC and the big name former Pride guys aren't known to the casual fan.

The Affliction card is pretty much better than anything the UFC has ever done. Anderson Silva vs. a C-level does not impress me much. I mean, I want to see it, but that's nothing on Affliction.

How has who Barnett's been fighting differ from who Fedor has been fighting?
