UFC Monopoly now starting to take its toll

The UFC Monopoly is now starting to take its toll on fighters negotiating contracts.

In order for the sport to be healthy in the long term, it is my contention that the UFC and the sport as a whole will need a strong competitor to emerge.

I don't have time to read the whole article right now since I'm heading out the door, but I definitely agree. I've been saying for a while that I want someone like Hero's to give the UFC some decent competition.
There's only 1 winner, or should I say 2. The fighter and the consumer.

like the article said. most hardcore fans already know that they lowball their fighters. and treat fighters who perform "unexcitingly" if thats even a word pretty squarely.

I kind of like it the way it is. You go on a losing streak, you're out of the UFC and fighting in smaller shows. You improve and get a winning streak in smaller shows, you're back in the big show. Despite what people say, UFC will hire back fighters and ignore previous disputes (Dana said he would rehire Babalu if he does well outside).

Arlovski and Werdum intentionally put on a borefest and compromised their standing.

Meritocracy.
