with terms this unfair it will probably happen sooner than later.
I'm pretty sure those terms would be deemed "unfair" in the UK and thus wouldn't hold up in court.

eeh, dunno about this one, you made it sound really bad, but i imagine if they sold 10 million chuck liddell dolls at 10$ a piece, even 10% of that gets you a solid million in your pocket, That whole clause of them claiming royalties for life is something shady tho imo.

I really don't think it sounds bad at all. If you guys think fighters are making money off selling their own products on their own, then you are wrong.

The average fighter that even has his own merch is ultra small time, selling maybe 10 items a week off a website. They will make WAY more by letting UFC do all the work, making their 6 appearances and just cashing the checks.

This whole merch plan is great news for fighters!

Tons of UFC fighters get cut or eventually move on to another org.
This contract would restrict them of making a living after the UFC, which could mean a whopping 2 fights.

You still think it is great for fighters? It may be good for Chuck Liddell or Forrest, it will absolutely be slavery for the other 80-90%% of UFC fighters.

Not all that different than what almost any contracted employee would have to sign for any industry.

You should see some of the crap I and others have had to argue over when doing contract work for game development.

The biggest things in there are the likeness rights, which is complete crap. It looks like a WWE contract....
