Not to make this a UFC vs. PRIDE thread (or Japan, since Heros has better fighters than the UFC at 155 with Boku, JZ, Kid, Uno, etc) but as far as rankings go the the UFC's 155 is second to the UFC's heavyweight.

I agree that the division doesnt have many top 10 ranked LW's. (even tho Sherk is like number 8 or so in the rankings now). The division has been gone for a while, and a VERY big part of the MMA world. So it was easy for the UFC's LW division to flounder when it came back.
but that is like if Pride decided to start a 170lb division out of nowhere. It would take a while to get it going, then crown a champion, then have those fighters make it up the rankings.
Give it time and the division will definately get some top 10 fighters. the LW's will fight their way to the top 10, or if the UFC decides to do some good scouting again (like T. Griffin was a real good sign) then who knows who they might sign (hopefully Shaolin)

The UFC LW division is decent. It will never reach the status of the PRIDE LW Division(The best division in all of MMA) but it has the potential to be somewhat decent.
