UFC LW stacked?

i am not putting up this post to bash the UFC or any org, because honestly i dont know much about the light weight division. i have only watched 3 LW fights. i watched jen pulver defeat BJ Penn to win the light weight title.

i watched gomi beat up jen pulver.

and i watched sean sherk and ken florian.

okay that's all the light weight fights i have watched. but i have been reading periodically that the UFC LW are somehow stacked. i dont get it. i dont know of any good lightweight by name aside from gomi. Gomi i am not impressed with because he is only a great striker. yes he could definitely dismantle sean sherk or ken florian easily with blows; however, sherk and florian both have only 1 fight in the LW division.

and that was for the belt. again how can the UFC legitimize the LW division with two guys who have never fought in that weight before and go at it? so my question to everyone is who else is in the UFC LW division and for that matter who are the lightweight in the world over all that are worth noting?

just looking for education on the weight class because the LW seem to be more of hype since they dont show that many LW fights overall.

thanks.

I don't think it's as stacked as everyone says it is. This definitely isn't a Bushido level division yet.

Wow, they've had like 3 LW fights a show in the UFC since the begining of the year. Half of every Bushido is LW.
You must not have been paying attention. It would take many many pages to tell you the history and great fighters at LW and why they are great.

wait who are these guys. i know who sherk is and pulver and yves, but who are those guys?
tyson griffin? hominick? never heard of them. did they beat anyone of any significance?

also why did they have sherk and florian fight for the title if the division is stacked? because sherk and florain both never fought at LW before.
