UFC HW Prospects - Why all the hate?
First off, let me start by saying that the HW division is starting to look great. You have a champ who's looking unstoppable, several solid vets (Nog, Mir, GG), and best of all, a TON of promising prospects on their way up (Cain, JDS, Carwin, Duffee, etc). People complained for years about it being weak and now something is being done about it.
But I've noticed that a lot of these guys are getting undue hate. People bashed Cain for getting rocked by Kongo even though he dominated the fight, then they said Rothwell was gonna KO him. Then when he DOMINATED Big Ben suddenly Rothwell sucks and the win means nothing. JDS's solid wins over Werdum and CC are constantly being discredited. People are saying Carwin is a can smasher who got lucky against Gonzaga. You would think people would be excited about these up and comers in what is traditionally the weakest division. So why all the hate?

Sherdog is just full of haters.
People are fickle as hell here. As soon as somebody losses they suck and if they win they beat somebody that sucks so the win doesnt mean much. It is just sad.

i don't get the hate either. a shitload of top quality hw prospects are coming out of TUF 10 also. guys like kimbo and wes shivers are going to DO WORK once they get into the UFC.

I think most people are excited about the UFC's HW division. Some people go way overboard about where they are now, and that leads to a predictable backlash, which some interpret as "hate." It's unfortunate that MMA discussions are so politically charged.

because right now other then JDS it's all hype. Cain has fought guys who have no ground game. Duffee has 1 fight. Carwin looks promising but he just has 1 win over Napao. So it's too early to realistically tell. Yet UFC wants to make these guys out to be monsters.

It's because many see these guys as an eventual threat to Fedor, so Fedor nuthuggers will do anything to discredit them.

I agree things are looking great.
I haven't really hated on any of the young heavies, I'm just not sucking down the hype.
Some people have really gone overboard on JDS and even Cain is getting a little too much credit that he hasn't earned.
I think most people are being level headed about Carwin and Duffee.

lmao ok......I won't be surprised if Kimbo doesn't get a single win in the UFC.
Depends on who he faces but anybody with a hint of BJJ will sub him easily.
He hasn't even shown the slightest desire to learn BJJ.
