I think all of these are pretty much certain "NOs".

- Pride is gone, no point trying to restart it when DREAM has most of the good Japanese fighters.

- Zuffa will not partner with another org, its bad business practice. They would be giving their competition credibility.

-We already know Zuffa is doing events all over the world, so another international event really wouldn't be "out of left field."

- Merging with the WEC would be completely unnecessary.

it's pretty clear it will be something with the wwe. they're both holding press conferences on the same day. if it was a tv deal it would've been published a long time ago. it's not floyd mayweather. a merge would've been announced a long time ago.

wwe and ufc are both holding conferences the same day..it's something to do with the wwe.

How is Dana doing a good job marketing this? Basically THIS forum is the only thing pushing this huge announcment.

It went from a small blip in an ESPN article that eveyone ignored for 3 days to a huge deal once the ppl here got ahold of it.

I've been saying this for a while, they fit right into their demographic, and will be eaten up by the masses of 18-36 year old boys that watch Fox. It will be so, mark my words
Right on with the demographics point. Maybe putting WEC on FSN or Fox now too.

ofcourse he's gonna say that, it would ruin his surprise and the attention he would get when he announces it

3 - Dana said it will "Effect the MMA world for the next 5 years"
this is why i say tv deal. no single fighter or fight will affect mma for 5 years

4 - Dana said it is "Out of left field"
5 - Dana said "Already signed the deal."
could be a number of things. maybe he has a few big announcements

- Zuffa plans to re-start "PRIDE WORLDWIDE"
whats the point? just waters down the ufc talent and they have no japanese stars signed

- Zuffa plans to open the doors to co-promoting specific fights. Possible Couture vs Fedor
i doubt they co-promote but a randy-fedor super fight is not out of the question. randy will come back if they sign fedor to a 1 fight deal.

- Zuffa has gained some level of Athletic Based Sponsorship like Nike/Reebok
these kind of sponsors would prolly come hand in hand with a tv deal

- Zuffa is holding an event in a new portion of the world
wont affect mma for 5 years

- Zuffa will be allowing it;s champions to be challenged by outside champions
oly if the ufc gets the rights to broadcast. they wont promote a rival like elitexc

- Zuffa has purchased/merged with another organization (Possibly Affliction)
if this happens hopefully they get the fighters under contract like they were supposed to get with the pride purchase. doesn't make sense for affliction to sell already but maybe they realize they're in over their heads. doubtful but u never know

- Zuffa sold the company, Dana to remain president under new ownership
i could see the ferttitas selling but d white will hold onto his 10% share and his job

- WEC Merger with UFC under Zuffa (or new) umbrealla
they own it so whats the point?? it will just clog their roster and they just finished cutting a lot of the fringe fighters.

Dana is doing a GREAT job of marketing this thing. I only hope he delivers the goods.

i just hope its bigger then the last time dana had big news. you know when he told us forrest and rampage were coaching tuf. that was so awesome.. hopefully theres a number of things he announces like a tv deal, randy-fedor, minimum fighter pay of atleast 10g's, roy jones jr-silva fight... theres lots of possibilities

Your post is full of dumb. He said it wasn't a tv deal and nobody would guess it because it's so out of left field. That kills about half of of the rumors right there. Secondly, Dana announced Rampage on some random fight night or something and Forrest on an award show, but it was already known days before what it was anyways. He hardly hyped it, unless you count telling people to tune into an award show to find out the other coach.

When did he say it wouldn't be a tv deal? I read the article where he talks about it but he never says anything like that did he say that somewhere else?

Fox does have the best sports coverage and I think they are perfect for each other
